A venue illustration is a drawing of a building, in ink and pencil by hand, scanned and sent as files. That makes it the odd one out among the Forever Artify commissions: no watercolour wash, no faces, no colour decisions beyond the weight of the line. What it gives you instead is a building reduced to its structure — rooflines, windows, arches, a porch — which is exactly what survives being shrunk onto an invitation or a menu. About CA$67, delivered as 300 DPI PDF and PNG, nothing posted.
Which photograph should I send?
This is the whole job, and it is worth getting right before you order. Send one to three clear shots of the exterior, taken straight on rather than from a corner, far enough back that the whole elevation fits in the frame. Daylight, and nothing parked across the front. What to leave out matters as much: guests, marquees, cars, a wedding arch, scaffolding. A drawing keeps whatever is in the photograph, so anything temporary in the shot becomes permanent in the artwork. If the only picture you have is from the day itself, with people in front of the doors, the venue's own website or listing photos are usually the better source.
Can the line colour match my stationery?
Yes, and that choice is free — send a hex code or a reference photo and the ink is drawn in that colour. You also receive the files with and without a background, which is the part most people need and do not think to ask for. The transparent version drops onto coloured card, a patterned welcome sign or a dark menu; the backed version is the one to use when you are laying out an invitation yourself. Both open in Canva, Photoshop and the online print shops.
How long does it take, and what if it is not quite right?
Files arrive within about three business days, and revisions are included, so a line that reads too heavy or a window count that is off can be corrected before anything goes to print. Order it before the stationery is sent, not after.
It does not have to be a wedding venue. The same drawing of a family home, a first house or a building you have just left makes a house portrait, which is why it also sits in Family Gifts. The matching monogram is in Wedding Crest & Monogram, and the full set of wedding commissions in Custom Wedding Art.
