One piece sits on this page, and it is the only thing in the Fern & Nest range that is not a picture. A custom initial pillow: a watercolour rabbit painted beside your baby's letter, printed onto a cushion and made to order. Everything else here hangs on a wall or folds over the end of a cot. This gets picked up, leaned on, carried to the sofa and washed.
Why one letter instead of the whole name?
Because an initial stays decoration and a full name becomes a label. A single painted letter reads as a monogram — it sits comfortably on a nursing chair, a toddler bed or a reading corner, and it still makes sense in a shared room where two children's things are mixed together. It is also the version that survives being handed down or photographed for years without dating itself to one baby's first weeks.
Which size should I choose, and where does it go?
Four sizes, S through XL, from about CA$35 to CA$59. The smaller two read as a cushion among other cushions on a bed or a chair, so they want company. The larger two hold a corner on their own — against the arm of a nursing chair, on a floor cushion pile, propped in a cot that is being used as a daybed rather than slept in. One thing worth saying plainly: a pillow is decoration and a keepsake, not bedding for a baby under a year old. Keep it on the chair, the shelf or the bed, not in the crib while the baby is sleeping in it.
Is it ready to give, or does it need a gift box?
It is made to order with the letter printed into the design, so the letter you enter is the one that arrives, and it needs no framing, no mount and no trip to a print shop — which is the practical difference between giving a pillow and giving a print. That makes it a first birthday or newborn gift you can hand over as it comes.
The soft pieces that go with it are in Blankets, the prints for the same room in Baby Girl Nursery, and everything gift-ready in Baby Gifts.
